. I am going to be speak a few words about Chatrapati
SHIVAJI MAHARAJ on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj, was born on 19th
February 1630. He was the son of Shahajiraje and Jijau. At an
early age, Shivaji got the right education from his mother and
father.
He learned all the warfare skills alongside religious
teachings. He imbibed the strong features of his character from
his mother. He grew up learning everyone is equal, irrespective
of caste and religion.
Shivaji Maharaj grew up to be a formidable ruler and
united the different kingdoms to form the Maratha Empire. He
was rich in versatility. He was brave, intelligent, valiant and
compassionate ruler.
He was living symbol and symbol of nationalism. That’s why
Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti is widely celebrated all over the world
by Indian people on his birthday 19th february.
Shivaji Maharaj's intelligence and valour made the
Mughal Empire and other rulers shiver in fear.
His enemy, Adil Shah wanted to kill him. He sent his
commander, Afzal Khan to trick and kill him on the spot. but, Shivaji was one step ahead. He hid a dagger and killed Afzal
Khan and fled.
He fought many battles and freed people from the
tyranny of many rulers. This is why he got the name
‘Chhatrapati Shivaji’ or the people’s king.
Shivaji Maharaj is one of the great national heros of
Indian people. He provided a new direction to the
contemporary politics of India.
In course of time, his movement assumed, he change the
political map of India.
Shivaji Maharaj had innumerable qualities like leadership,
management, foresight, political diplomacy, military
administration, loyalty towards truth and justice, etc.
Shivaji Maharaj Known as the Father of Indian Navy. He was
the first to realise the importance of having a naval force.
He was widely known for his guerrilla warfare tactics.
Shivaji Maharaj followed a policy of encouraging agriculture.
He paid attention to the welfare of the peasantry.
Shivaji Maharaj’s personality and message are as relevant
today as they were in the past.
So, lastly I wish you happy SHIV JAYANTI to all of you .
